FAQs

How many people will attend the event?

Attendance is limited to no more than 50 people to help us achieve our goal of being able to provide intimate learning, hands-on activities, and the ability for you to meet every attendee and interact with all the speakers.

How much does the event cost?

The conference fee is $995.00

What does my registration fee include?

Your fee is inclusive of all three dates of workshops, handouts and materials, as well as food and beverages during each day.  More than that, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from the best, and meet your fellow rising food media stars.

Can I attend just one day?

You can not purchase tickets for individual days or workshops.  The three-day event is designed to be experienced in total and we’re sure you will take away incredible learning from each and every part.

Is there an age limit for the event?

You must be 18 years or older to attend the event.  If you are under 21 years of age please be prepared to show ID before our happy hour event on June 17th.

Do you offer scholarship or payment plans?

We will be offering a small number of full scholarships to the event and information regarding those can be found here. We do not offer payment plans for the event fee.

Note that if you’ve purchase a ticket and are then awarded a scholarship, your ticket fee will be refunded. However, if you apply for a scholarship and do not get one, and then the event is sold out, we will be unable to open additional tickets for sale.

What is the cancellation policy?

Tickets to the Food Media Lab are non-refundable once purchased but are transferable.  Please contact us if you want to transfer your registration to someone else.

What are the hours of the event?

The conference hours are 9am to 3pm each day, with happy hour from 3-4:30 on June 17th.  We will start right on time each day and you’re free to arrive up to 30 minutes early to enjoy some coffee before we kick things off.

Are there breaks each day?

Yes - there is a 15 minute break between each speaker plus a one hour lunch break mid-day.

Will I be fed at the event?

You will be well fed!  Coffee service is provided each morning along with snacks and drinks throughout the day, lunch mid-day, and a cookie break each afternoon.  We will have filtered water on hand if you would like to bring your water bottle, too.

Can I volunteer at the Food Media Lab?

While we do not anticipate needing many volunteers, we’re happy to take your name and contact information should a need arise. You can share the information with us here.

Can I follow up with speakers or attendees after the event?

We hope you do!  Contact information for all speakers and attendees will be provided to everyone (with your permission, of course).

How can I help spread the word?

Thanks for asking.  Our hashtag is #foodmedialab and you can find us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook at @foodmedialab

How can I partner with the Food Media Lab?

You can email support@sfcooking.com if you have ideas about partnering with the Lab. Our speaker roster is full for this event but there may be other ways we can work together.
